PRIVATE SWIMMING LESSONS AT HOME

BENEFITS OF PRIVATE SWIMMING CLASSES

Learning to swim is very important for children at swim club. Not only is it going to give them a nice way to cool off when the summer is hot, but it also is going to help them be safe in the water. If you’re a parent, chances are that you have looked into swimming lessons and you’re conflicted between choosing private or group lessons. Below are 3 reasons to choose private lessons.

  1. SAVE TIME & MONEY Even though at-home private swimming lessons cost more at our swim club, they can also save you time as well as money. Why? Well, think of it this way. When your child is in a group setting, they are getting less time one-on-one with the instructor. This means they may not be learning as much as they would when they are having individual lessons. That means that you are going to spend more time taking them back and forth to lessons, plus paying for those lessons. But when your child is having private swimming lessons, there’s a good chance that they are learning more since they have Swim Coach Dina’s undivided attention and they are getting more out of the lessons. This means that your child may not need as many lessons, so you are saving money in the long run and saving time since you don’t have to take them to as many.
  2. MORE ACTUAL CLASS TIME When your child is in a group class, they often have between 3 and 8 other students with them in that class. During a class of 40 minutes, an instructor often spends about 15 of those minutes giving instructions to the group. The rest of the time gets divided between the students. This means that there’s only less than 4 minutes of personal instruction given to students. The other students often have to sit up on the pool’s side so that they are staying safe while waiting to practice. This means that most students aren’t swimming during group lessons and are instead out of the water. This isn’t the case with private lessons, since your child is the only one in their class.
  3. MADE FOR YOUR CHILD One thing that we know at Florida Swim Center is that two students aren’t the same. That’s why our private lessons are made for your child’s needs. The swim lessons are created with your child’s learning style and fears in mind. So, you don’t have to worry about a cookie-cutter solution.

If you are looking for a way that your child can learn how to swim that will give them the best results possible, one of the best things you can choose is private swimming lessons. They’ll give your child the attention and help they need and they will provide a customized plan for them.

1. Convenience: With private swim lessons in your own pool, you don't have to spend time traveling to a public pool or swim school. This saves you time and effort, especially if you have a busy schedule.

2. Flexible Scheduling: Private swim lessons can be scheduled at a time that suits you best, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends. This flexibility ensures that you can fit lessons into your busy schedule.

3. Personalized Attention: With one-on-one instruction, your swim instructor can focus on your specific needs and learning style, helping you progress faster and more efficiently.

4. Reduced Waiting Time: In group lessons, you often have to wait for others to complete their turns or for instructors to assist multiple students. Private lessons eliminate this waiting time, allowing you to make the most of your lesson time.

5. Comfort and Familiarity: Learning in your own pool provides a comfortable and familiar environment, reducing anxiety and stress. This helps you relax and focus on your swimming technique.

6. Time-Efficient Learning: Private swim lessons in your own pool allow you to learn at your own pace, without distractions or interruptions. This focused learning environment enables you to absorb and retain information more effectively.

7. Lessons Tailored to Your Needs: Your instructor can tailor lessons to address specific skills or areas you want to improve, ensuring that you're using your time efficiently.

8. No Pool Crowds: You won't have to deal with crowded public pools, which means no waiting for lanes, no distractions, and a more peaceful learning environment.

By choosing private swim lessons in your own pool, you can optimize your time, learn more efficiently, and enjoy the convenience of training in the comfort of your own home."

  1. Weather Check with Accuweather.com: To ensure safe conditions, please check the weather before your lesson, such as with the AccuWeather app here. Confirm that there are no strong winds or nearby clouds that could affect lesson safety.
  2. Heavy Rain: Lessons are canceled only during heavy rain. Light rain is not a reason for cancellation, as lessons can continue safely.

  3. Lightning: For safety, lessons are canceled if there is lightning in the area. Lightning poses an electrocution risk to both swimmer and instructor, so lessons must stop immediately in this event. Cancellations due to lightning will be decided 1 hour before the appointment time. Early cancellations (e.g., in the morning or 8 hours ahead) are not possible because Florida weather can change quickly, sometimes within 30 minutes.

  4. Pool Condition: Please ensure that your pool is in working condition and not closed for maintenance or repair. If the instructor arrives and the pool is unavailable, the lesson will still be counted, and the client is responsible for payment.

  5. Pool Temperature: The pool temperature should be at least 86°F. If the water is colder, the instructor may decide whether it’s safe to continue. Our instructors are professionals, and teaching is their primary source of income. They often teach up to 10 lessons a day, and exposure to cold water for extended hours can impact their health. Additionally, a cold pool may make it uncomfortable for swimmers, and they may not be able to stay in the water as long as expected.
  6. Punctuality: Please have the swimmer ready to begin the lesson on time. If the instructor arrives and the swimmer is not ready, the lesson time will still count, and this time cannot be extended or made up.
  7. Instructor Delays: Due to travel, possible traffic, and other unexpected distractions, the instructor may be up to 30 minutes late. If this happens, rest assured they will inform you of any delays as soon as possible.
  8. Parking: Clients are responsible for providing parking for the instructor. Some locations, like hotels, may charge for parking or valet services. Please ensure that parking is available and affordable to avoid unexpected charges. The client is responsible for covering any parking fees.
  9.  Limited Family Interaction: During the lesson, please avoid interacting with the swimmer. Waving, smiling, or calling out to them can interrupt their focus and impact the learning process. Family interaction is welcomed if the instructor invites or allows it, so feel free to join in if requested.
  10. Pet Management: Please keep pets secured in a separate area to avoid distractions during the lesson. A calm, quiet atmosphere is essential for a successful and focused session.

These guidelines are in place to create a supportive learning environment that helps the swimmer stay focused and progress effectively. Thank you for your cooperation!
