Level 1 Water Awareness

· Enters and exits water using ladder or a ramp

· Retrieves toys, rings and other things from floor of pool

· Gliding on stomach while standing on feet

· Underwater swimming & breath control

· Floats on stomach 5 seconds

· Floats on back 5 seconds

· Rolling over from back to front

· Circles arms one at a time and both at same time on back

· Circles arms one at a time and both at same time on back

· Uses legs simultaneously or alternating on back

· Uses legs simultaneously or alternating on front

· Jumping into water

· Swimming on back

Level 2 Improving fundamental skills in water

 · Entering water from block or wall

· Blows bubbles 5 times

· Wearing and adjusting goggles properly

· Open up eyes underwater to pick up things like toys or rings from pool’s bottom

· Can glide on stomach then stand up

· Can glide on back then stand up

· Roll from the back to front

· Roll from the front to back

· Breath control & underwater swimming

· Floating on the front

· Floating on the back

· Tread water with hands breaststroke kick or flutter kick 10 seconds

· Use legs and arms simultaneously on back

· Use legs and arms on simultaneously on front

· Pull off from wall, glide and catch instructor’s hands

· Jump into deep end and swim to wall

· Swimming on front 10 meters

· Swimming on back 10 meters

· Climb up stairs  

Level 3 – Development of Strokes

  

· Enter water from block or wall

· Blow bubbles 10x

· Hold breath underwater 10 seconds

· Using legs and arms simultaneously to swim 5-10 meters

· Front floating 10 seconds, back floating, tuck floats

· Climbing stairs

· Left side breathing

· Right side breathing

· Underwater swimming & breath control

· Changing positions & directions

· Jumping into water

· Swimming on front

· Tread water 15 seconds
